Start Fixing Your Grades After Halloween - TutorNerds

Start Fixing Your Grades After Halloween - TutorNerds Tips From a Private Irvine Tutor: Start Fixing Your Grades After Halloween Tips From a Private Irvine Tutor: Start Fixing Your Grades After Halloween Halloween is a fun holiday that presents a nice reprieve from school work (even if most students still have school on October 31st).   However, it is also useful to recognize it as a turning point in your grades for the semester or quarter.   Halloween marks the end of October, meaning that there is only November and some percentage of December left for your classes and grades this period book your private Irvine tutor today. This means that your time is limited to achieve the grades that you want â€" but not so limited that you can’t make an effective change.   Halloween gives you a mental break and stress relief to then focus on making a change afterward.   Here are some things you can do to start fixing your grades after Halloween: Talk to Your Teachers One first step you should take in improving your grades is to talk to the teachers or professors in the classes where you are struggling.   Ideally, you would do this in a meeting or during office hours rather than just a few minutes after class or over email.   Your teacher is the one who knows the assignments and grading policy and is the best equipped to give you practical resources. Your teacher can tell you what grades are possible for you to achieve, what grade you are on track for, what assignments you will need to do well on, and what you should be doing now.   If you are going to improve your grades, then you need to know where you’re at now and where you can realistically get to in the next two months. Make an Early Finals Study Plan If your class has a final â€" especially if it is a cumulative final â€" then you can get a head start on preparation now while you are motivated and not overwhelmed with end of semester stress.   Make a clear and concise study material now.   Make flashcards, outlines, or practice questions.   My ideal approach is to pretend you are the teacher and make a test for yourself based on what you’ve learned so far.   You don’t even have to take the test you make; the act of making it helps your learning, and you can save it for the final time to take it again. Get Started on Final Projects or Papers NOW This is advice that everyone knows, and no one takes it.   If you have a significant final project or paper for the end of your semester, then you should start it early.   Don’t tell yourself that you have plenty of time.   Don’t tell yourself that you haven’t learned enough yet to finish it.   Start something and make a contribution now while you are motivated and ready to make a change. It can be as small as a simple paragraph or a title and a few notes.   Just put some amount of work in now, and you will thank yourself for it later.   It can also help you find areas of confusion that you can bring up to your teacher while you still have plenty of time.   The only way for your teacher to help you with a big project that is a large part of your grade is if you make an effort to start it early, so you have time to ask. Hire a Private Irvine Tutor These tips all require you to hold yourself accountable and be motivated enough to realize change.   Having someone else there to help and keep you on track can be a huge incentive actually to making the change happen without being on your own.   A tutor can make sure you start studying early, make sure that you reach out to your teacher and help you conceptualize your syllabus, and make sure you are on track with big projects or papers. A tutor can also help you catch up at old material or excel at new material.   While starting and early and being focused can be effective in improving your grade, it can only help so much if you simply don’t understand what you’re learning in class or fell too far behind.   A tutor can help remedy these problems in a way that you likely couldn’t achieve on your own.   Make sure to look for an experienced tutor and be clear about what your goals are and what you want to get out of the experience. Let Halloween be more than just a fun holiday and use it as a catalyst to make a real and effective change in your academic career.   You’ll thank yourself for it when you get your final grades if you just put in the effort to start now. Dont wait until the last minute to book your experienced Irvine tutor. Michael C. is currently a private math, science, and standardized test tutor with TutorNerds in Irvine and Anaheim. What NOT to Ask in an Internship Interview

What NOT to Ask in an Internship Interview via Pixabay Will this internship end with a job offer? You’re all thinking it. The point of getting an internship is to hopefully show that you add value to the company so that they will offer you a job after your internship is over so then you won’t have to move back in with your parents after college. Don’t let your interviewers know that this is the main goal of landing the internship though. Along with receiving a job offer, you are also looking for experience working in an office and in the field you are majoring in so that when it does come time to apply for jobs, you have some experience. Why is this an unpaid position? Unfortunately, many internships are unpaid. It’s the sad truth. However, you cannot ask your interviewers why the position is unpaid. In their minds, they would tell you to get a part-time job if you wanted something paid. The internship will benefit you, though not monetarily, but by adding skills to your resume and knowledge about the industry. via Pixabay Can I get paid? Once again, asking about money in an unpaid internship position is rude and lessens your chance of being chosen for the position. If money is tight and you do not have the funds to get to your internship, you may be able to work out a stipend with the company. However, this should not be brought up until the company has offered you the position. While interviewing, you want to seem like the perfect candidate who will not cause any trouble for the company. via Pixabay Will I have to get coffee for everyone? Remember, you’re the intern. You are the bottom of the food chain at the company. Sure, you have fantastic ideas and can add value to the company, but you have to recognize that you will be doing some meaningless tasks. Getting coffee, filing paperwork, and making copies, though they may not be listed in the job description, will have to be done and it won’t be by the executives who are running to meetings all day. via Pixabay   How often do you expect me to come into the office? Millennials tend to prefer working from home rather than going into an office. It’s understandable, especially with the wonderful advancement of technology. However, when applying for internship positions, it is safe to assume that your supervisor will want you to come into the office every day of your internship. There may be some wiggle room to work from home if you are not feeling well or due to inclement weather, but this definitely is not a question to ask during your internship interview. Will anyone be looking at my social media? It’s always safe to assume that employers will be reviewing your social media when you apply to a job. Keep your social media clean and have it represent a professional, exciting, and ambitious you! Before applying for jobs and internships, take a few hours and clean up your social media. If you ask this question during your internship interview, then it will sound like you are trying to hide something. So erase those pictures with red solo cups and keg stands before sending out applications. via Pixabay Do I have to pass a drug test? Just don’t. This question should never come out of your mouth during any type of interview. Even if you do not take part in using recreational drugs and are just curious, asking this question seems like you do and makes it sound like you will fail a drug test if administered. This is another question that can make your interviewers deem you as untrustworthy and that you have something to hide. Assume that with any job, there is a possibility that you will need to be drug tested. Better safe than sorry!

The Pearson English Learning System

The Pearson English Learning SystemThe Pearson English Learning System is a popular multi-media learning program. The program has a software application that you can download onto your computer, a PDF of the curriculum for you to study at home, and a CD of the audio and video lessons. It is recommended for those who are struggling with reading, writing, and comprehension. The Pearson English Learning System uses an instructional system that is based on a learning model known as 'Sapir-Whorf' theory. The learning program, like most other English Language Learning Programs, uses Sapir-Whorf Theory. The theory states that what we see is often more true than what we think. As such, the learning system emphasizes education through creating texts and watching videos. This concept is a central concept in the curriculum for the English Learning System. Students will find that English is primarily written and then through reading and listening to the course, they will eventually learn to read a nd write as well. The text lessons are easy to understand and are usually presented in videos, making it easier for the student to learn. The audio portion of the program is another important feature. You will be able to listen to lessons as well as text lectures, taking courses from different parts of the world. This helps to expose students to different cultures and gives them a better understanding of how the language is used and spoken in other countries. The audio lessons are meant to supplement the lessons in the text curriculum. The system also teaches students how to use the English language, which is why the program is also referred to as a 'Language Learning System.' Students are taught to follow phrases and sentences when reading, but not all students are naturally able to do this.Like most language learning programs, the English Learning System teaches you how to read, write, and speak English. These skills help to increase confidence. The program provides proper instructi on on how to do these things, so you do not have to do it on your own. There are many step-by-step instructional guides to help the student learn. To learn to read and write English, the Pearson English Learning System is a very effective program. However, the program may not work well for students who have a difficult time reading and writing. The program is also expensive, with a cost of $495. If you cannot afford to buy the Pearson English Learning System, there are many other programs to choose from.
